Licensing Requirements:

Registered Nurses (RNs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs): College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
To practice as a registered nurse or nurse practitioner in Alberta, you must be registered with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).

Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs): College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
To practice as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) in Alberta, you must be registered with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) and hold a valid practice permit.
Registration with the CLPNA requires completing an application and meeting all criteria outlined in the Policy: Declarations and Registration Requirements.
Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPNs): College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA)
Professional Practice Standards:

At least one year of applicable nursing experience (two years preferred)
