British Columbia Travel Nurse Regulations

We are proud to offer exciting travel nursing opportunities across British Columbia (BC), connecting skilled nurses with diverse healthcare settings throughout the province. With recent regulatory updates and enhanced support systems, BC has become an even more welcoming destination for both Canadian and internationally educated nurses. Licensing Requirements (British Columbia):

Travel nurses must be registered and licensed with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), which regulates

  • Registered Nurses (RNs)

  • Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs)

  • Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPNs)

  • Nurse Practitioners (NPs)

BCCNM oversees the licensing process, ensuring that all nurses meet the required standards of practice and ethics.

Professional Practice Standards:
Travel nurses are expected to practice within their authorized scope and in accordance with BCCNM’s professional standards, practice standards, and code of ethics.

For Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs):
If you were educated and licensed outside of Canada, you must apply for registration with BCCNM. This includes submitting your credentials through the National Nursing Assessment Service (NNAS), demonstrating English language proficiency, and fulfilling any additional requirements set by BCCNM, such as bridging education or competency assessments.

IENs can now choose from various credential assessment services, including World Education Services (WES), Comparative Education Services (CES), International Credential Assessment Service (ICAS), and International Credential Evaluation Service (ICES).

Recent Regulatory Considerations:
While British Columbia currently does not impose a fixed employment duration or waiting period for travel nurses, as seen in other provinces, it is essential for nurses to remain informed about facility-specific policies and BCCNM guidelines regarding temporary assignments and re-employment.

We are committed to guiding nurses through the process of securing travel nursing positions in British Columbia. Our services include:

  • Personalized Job Matching: Connecting you with opportunities that align with your skills and preferences.

  • Application Assistance: Providing support throughout the licensing and registration process.

  • Ongoing Support: Offering resources and assistance during your assignments to ensure a successful experience.

By partnering with our services, you gain access to a network dedicated to your professional growth and success in British Columbia's healthcare system.
